Coldstart is a lead-generation tool for founders who don’t have a network to start from. You describe the kind of company you sell to in one sentence. Coldstart searches the live web for companies matching that description, finds a contact email on each company’s own site, checks the address actually resolves, and drafts a first outreach email for every result.

Who runs Coldstart

Coldstart is operated by Lead Logger LLC. It is a small, independent product — not a venture-backed sales platform with an outbound team. It was built to solve its own author’s problem: finding the first customers for a new product with no list, no referrals, and no budget for a $1,000/month data seat.

Where the lead data comes from

Coldstart does not resell a static contact database, and it does not buy scraped lists. Every search runs against the live web at the moment you run it. For each company found:

• The contact email is discovered on the company’s own website — a public contact, sales, or team page — not purchased from a data broker.
• Each address is checked against the domain’s mail records before it is shown to you, so dead addresses are filtered out rather than sold to you.
• Phone numbers are included only when the company publishes one publicly.
• Results reflect the web as it is today. A search run next month returns different companies, because the underlying source is live rather than a snapshot.

This is also the honest limitation: Coldstart can only find companies that have a discoverable web presence and publish a way to contact them. Businesses that are deliberately hard to reach stay hard to reach.

Every account gets 10 searches a month free, with no card required. Pro is $50/month or $500/year (two months free), and adds 500 searches a month plus API and MCP access. Full details are on the pricing section.

Where Coldstart runs

Beyond the dashboard, Coldstart runs anywhere your AI assistant does. There is a REST API and an MCP server, so Claude and other MCP clients can search for leads and draft outreach directly in a conversation.
